Undoubtedly one of the most important responsibilities of the compliance officer is compliance training. Your best defense to a compliance problem is well-trained staff who not only know the organization’s policies but also understand why they exist and how they apply to the individual’s role within the organization.
Too often, organizations adopt a “one-size-fits-all” approach to training by providing generalized information on compliance obligations that looks the same for all employees. The problem with this type of training is it’s less likely that employees will truly understand how these policies apply to them or recognize a compliance issue when faced with one.
A better approach? Personalize your compliance training. Devote the time necessary to make your training programs more meaningful to your staff by tailoring them to the various roles within your organization. Learn how on this week’s podcast.
